Gosh! This last weekend sure blew through the state of Missouri! There were tornadoes all over the state and sadly nine deaths resulted from the storm. I feel like my life has been in a tornado lately! We got back from our trip to the Bahamas, which was a wonderful, relaxing time but got right back into the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Sarah and I are working on a new business project of making soy candles. We decided upon a company name, The Six Scents Candle Company and have been busy trying to get that set up and running. A website is in the works and can be viewed at www.thesixscents.com once it is completed. In the mean time, questions can be sent to info@thesixscents.com. This together with orders coming in from The Ceramic Workshop has certainly been keeping me busy.
Allen and I went to St. Louis this past weekend to visit with my parents. My cousin, Judi and her husband, Kenny came to visit us at my parents' house. We hadn't seen each other in ages and had a really nice catch-up visit with them! It was just amazing how many of the same hobbies and interests we have when we have lived so far apart for so long! My Aunt Marjorie and Uncle Loyd came to my parents' house Saturday evening and we had a good visit with them, too. Storms started coming in Saturday evening and we left out Sunday morning to head back home. On our way out of town, we stopped in at my cousin Rhea's house and dropped off an electric guitar for Heather. Travis had left it here last fall for her but this was the first time we have been over there since then. Travis no longer plays on the guitar and since Heather's ambitions are to be a rock star, he thought she might enjoy it! Just remember Heather when you are famous, you have to get us all tickets to your concerts! OK?
At any rate, we got back to Kansas City just as the second wave of storms hit our area. Sirens were going off as we arrived and we encountered rain, wind and hail as we got home. Sarah and Keith had come up to our house so they could go to the basement. Sarah had put some ping-pong size hail in our freezer for us to see. That hail had fallen earlier in the day when the first storms come through the area. Thankfully, we all stayed safe and my little car only got a few little dings in the top, hood and trunk from the hail.
Next week, we are flying out to Phoenix to be the pit crew for Travis. He has a big race on Friday, March 24th, so we are going to be there for that and hopefully get a good visit in with him.
So like I said, things around here are in a constant whirlwind...much like the tornadoes that hit the area this past weekend....and can you believe it? They are calling for snow this next Monday and Tuesday?! Never a dull minute!
