Well, actually it has finally stopped snowing and the sun is coming out. I was up at 5:30 this morning and it was raining. About 45 minutes later it started snowing and has snowed most of the day, quite heavy at times. It has stayed around 32 to 34 degrees though, so it has been just really slushy on the streets and walkways. Our first few winters here we didn't get much snow and what we did get came in 2 or 3 snows and that was it. We have had what seems like at least a dozen different snows this year. It barely melts off and in some cases didn't melt before the next snowfall came. I do not like it! Not one little bit! I am ready for spring! I spent too many years living in the desert southwest...there must be sand in my blood or something because all of this bad weather is really taking a toll! I need some sunshine and warm breezes!

At least there have been plenty of indoor projects to keep me busy! I got the basement organized last month. I still need to go through a lot papers and junk and get rid of some stuff but at least everything is pretty well organized. I've also decided on colors to paint the walls in the house this spring. I am going to start with the guest bedroom and will probably paint it in the next couple of weeks. The bigger project will be painting the entry, living room, stairwell, hallway, kitchen and dining area because they all open to each other. For that project, I am planning to enlist the help of Travis and Megan, probably sometime in late March or early April...once the weather is nicer so we can open the house up. In the mean time I plan to work on curtains for each of the rooms and have them ready to put up once the painting is done. Then, the house will be complete and I will be ready to head to the yard and get some gardening done. I have big plans for both a vegetable/fruit garden as well as lots and lots of flowers.

I have also been working on my ceramics and candles. I have several new scents we will be adding to the candle line for spring and summer as well as some neat decorator ceramic pieces. They are always fun to work on.

Allen has been working on a couple of new designs for bird feeders that have turned out nicely. If you can believe this, he and one of our neighbors just left to go fishing. One of the lakes here in town was stocked this past week with trout so they have headed over there in the snow to go fishing. They went yesterday and each caught their limit of 4 in just a short time so they are headed back today. Crazy, aren't they?

Alex has been staying with me a lot this past month while Sarah and Keith have been at the VA hospital. Keith has been going through a lot of tests but they seem to finally be ready to get some treatments in place. He may have to undergo surgery next month but we aren't sure at this time. Thanks for your continued prayers. It has really been hard on both of them. Alex and I have been having a grand time though. He loves being my helper. I don't know where he gets all of his energy though...it never ends!

Travis and Megan seemed to have settled in nicely in Lawrence. Travis made a business trip to California a week ago and then came home and got sick. I guess coming back to snow and cold weather after being in sunny California was too much for him! He went to the doctor though and seems to be getting better.
